We did it! Last week we wrapped up 6 months of learning and development through the Academic Startup Competition and SolarFoil has come out the other end stronger, more confident, and eager to grow! ✨What were our key takeaways? 🌱 Business Planning This module broke down planning into clear, logical steps, giving us a solid roadmap to follow. This structured approach has been essential in refining our strategies. Huge thanks to Daan A.J. Kersten and Ilko Bosman for your expertise! 🌿 Team Assessment Identifying our team’s strengths and gaps has been crucial. Focusing on building a balanced, motivated team has given us a strong foundation to start expanding... stay tuned! 🌳 Thinking Big Stepping out of our comfort zone was a major theme. Building confidence in networking and pitching has shifted our mindset from academic thinking to entrepreneurial thinking. This change has been transformative, and we’ve grown significantly as founders. Thank you so much to the Techleap team and everyone involved, especially Arjan Goudsblom, Ruben Habraken and Natasja Marchese We’re also grateful for the connections we’ve made with other startups facing similar challenges. SolarFoil B.V., een spin-off van de Universiteit van Amsterdam, heeft een converteerbare lening van €300.000 euro ontvangen van het Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland. SolarFoil is een pionier op het gebied van spectrale conversietechnologie die is ontworpen om zonlicht te optimaliseren voor betere groei en productie van planten. SolarFoil verhoogt de efficiëntie en draagt bij aan duurzamere landbouw door ongebruikt natuurlijk zonlicht te benutten. De huidige methoden om licht te bewerkstelligen, zoals kunstlicht en schaduw, gaan gepaard met aanzienlijke energiekosten en inefficiëntie, vooral in sectoren zoals de kweek van microalgen. De spectrale conversietechnologie stemt het zonnespectrum af op de behoeften van planten, waardoor de opbrengst van gewassen toeneemt en de operationele kosten afnemen. Op deze manier belooft de technologie een aanzienlijke impact te hebben, in lijn met het toekomstige traject van de groene economie. Met Take-off kunnen 32 nieuwe haalbaarheidsstudies en 10 vroegefasetrajecten van start. Met deze financiering zal onder andere worden gewerkt aan efficiënt gebruik van zonlicht voor gewasgroei, aan vroege detectie van beroertes, en aan warmteopslag in de bebouwde omgeving.
