What a wonderful experience at #QuantumKorea 2024! QuantWare’s Kejal Shah and Tijmen de Jong had an amazing time connecting with fellow quantum leaders and enthusiasts. On June 25-27, the #QuantumKorea conference hosted by the #KoreanMinistryofScienceandICT brought together leading experts and innovators from around the world to exchange ideas and showcase advancements in quantum technology. Visiting Korea and witnessing their quantum advancements was inspiring. The progress made over the past year since our last visit is substantial, supported by extensive technical know-how, government backing, and the tireless efforts of renowned research institutions. Notable institutions such as the ETRI Seoul SW-SoC Convergence R&BD Center and KRISS : Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science, and universities such as Sungkyunkwan University showcased impressive developments in quantum research. This year, we observed the initial steps taken towards the commercialisation of quantum technology, with emerging companies working to make these advancements accessible to the public. These efforts are essential for the future of quantum computing as a cloud-based commodity. At our booth, Kejal and Tijmen showcased our Contralto QPU and TWPA amplifier, demonstrating the impact of QuantWare’s #QuantumOpenArchitecture initiative. They explained how these components enable innovation within the international quantum ecosystem by powering state-of-the-art quantum systems in research institutions across several countries, boosting each nation’s quantum research capabilities. We also engaged with partners and collaborators who are keen on integrating various hardware and software components into full-stack quantum systems for end-users. Additionally, we explored the latest quantum advancements from our peers, gaining valuable insights into the current state of the field. Through these interactions, QuantWare aims to influence the broader adoption of the #QuantumOpenArchitecture paradigm in building full-stack quantum systems. This approach will not only drive technological advancements but also foster a more resilient and innovative global quantum ecosystem.   We are grateful for this wonderful experience, the meaningful exchanges, and the gathered insights. Stay tuned for more updates from the quantum space! #QuantumKorea #QuantumConnect #QuantWare #QuantumTechnology

QuantWare’s CEO Matthijs Rijlaarsdam is part of a group of 10 CEOs of leading Dutch scale ups that mirror the 10 key technologies of the National Technology Strategy (NTS) set by the Ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat, that are essential for the future Dutch economy. Scale-ups are crucial in the development of these technologies. The group has the ambition to build at least one ASML-like company based in The Netherlands in each of the 10 key technologies by 2038 (height of Dutch ageing population). The CEOs act as a voice for Dutch scale-ups to provide a sounding board to government policy making with the aim to develop new sustainable industries to improve our economic competitiveness and secure our societal welfare. The group aims to represent broad inclusive technology categories for current and future scale-up generations to create new Dutch based industries with positive societal impact. Scale-ups are different to SME’s and have the following specific needs to grow: 1. Consistent policy: Scale-ups have a long growth journey that requires consistent policy to develop supportive ecosystems. It is imperative to embed the NTS in the Coalition Accord, give scale-ups a structural seat at the table of developing industry policy to secure long term policies that promote scale-up development. 2. Speed: Scale-ups need to go fast to overcome the period of more cost than revenues. We need a ‘fast lane’ for governmental approvals and priority access to public infrastructure. 3. Risk: Scale-ups take on a lot of risk that pay-out to society only much later. Government should share more in this risk by providing funding, stimulating scale-up products in public tenders and offering guarantees to allow scale-ups to compete with corporates. “Quantum has the potential to impact everything - from the development of new medication to the energy transition and (cyber)security.”, says Matthijs Rijlaarsdam, ”The Netherlands can maintain its leading position in this field - if we do not let the opportunity go to waste”. 👉 Find out more about this initiative at https://techchampions.nl/. 👉 See this mornings FD article on this initiative here (in Dutch): https://lnkd.in/e_bprCgV 👉 See our press release here: https://lnkd.in/e89ZiZXP The 10 CEOs are: - Johan Feenstra (SMART Photonics) - Matthijs Rijlaarsdam (QuantWare) - Mattijs Slee (Battolyser Systems) - Koenraad Wiedhaup (Leyden Labs) - Merel Boers (Nicolab) - Hamed Sadeghian (Nearfield Instruments ) - Elise de Reus (Cradle) - Christian Rood (LeydenJar) - Fabrizio Del Maffeo (Axelera AI) -Joep Gommers (EclecticIQ)

QuantWare powers the Israeli Quantum Computing Centre. On Monday, 24 June, the first Israeli Quantum Computing Centre (IQCC) powered by QuantWare in collaboration with our partners Quantum Machines and ParTec AG was inaugurated. This pioneering facility will support advanced research for local startups and academia, acting as a testing ground for new developments in quantum computing technology. Integrating both quantum and classical computing resources, The IQCC aims to boost advancements in the quantum ecosystem by being the first ever facility to provide access to 3 quantum computers with different types of qubits. The Centre, located at Tel Aviv University, is equipped with one superconducting quantum computer powered by QuantWare’s Contralto QPU. The project shows how #QuantumOpenArchitecture enables local ecosystems to build out sovereign capabilities. Its establishment advances efforts in developing practical quantum computing capabilities globally. As part of Tel Aviv University’s ‘AI and Cyber’ Week, the Centre highlights the potential of quantum processors to tackle complex problems and drive technological progress. QuantWare is proud to be at the forefront of this initiative, empowering the IQCC to provide value to end customers. #QuantumComputing #Innovation #QuantumMachines #IQCC #QuantWare
