MULTRATUG 36, the second newly ordered Damen ASD Tug 3212, seen arriving at Vlissingen-Oost / Sloehaven 07/07/2024 on her delivery trip from Vietnam. Unique images I guess with Kingstown (St. Vincent) as well as her homeport Terneuzen at the stern. Multraship Towage & Salvage

𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗧𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗱𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 ⬇ Last month, #Multraship joined our peers at the European Tugowners Association (ETA) for its 61st Annual General Meeting in #Helsingør, #Denmark. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 Multraship’s Eline Muller and Willem Spijker connected with over 140 members of the European #towage community to discuss the industry's future and today's critical challenges, especially regarding emissions. 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘆 This year's ETA Conference shed light on the EU Emissions Trading System (#ETS) and the Monitor, Reporting and Verification (#MRV) regulations. These regulations are pivotal for the #maritime sector's #decarbonisation goals and for service providers like #Multraship to understand our role in fostering a sustainable industry without compromising operational efficiency. However, the MRV regulations set to be enforced from 1st January 2025 may impose a significant administrative and financial burden on tug- and workboat owners and operators. The ambiguity surrounding the definition of 'offshore vessel' and which vessels from 400 GT will need to comply adds to the challenge of preparing for proper implementation and budgeting. 𝗡𝗼 ‘𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗦𝗶𝘇𝗲-𝗙𝗶𝘁𝘀-𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻’ There is no 'one-size-fits-all' alternative fuel solution for our industry yet, particularly for tugs, workboats and salvage craft that operate both offshore and in port(s). Issues such as the availability of alternative fuels and storage/tank capacity are examples of the challenges we face. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗴𝗲 Despite these challenges, Multraship is dedicated to sustainable operations while ensuring we can respond to any incident. Our presence at events like the ETA Conference keeps us informed and proactive regarding #emissions #regulations affecting our industry.

#Multraship is excited to be part of the "Noirmoutier OSS" project! ⛴ Located off the Vendée coast, this will be the fifth offshore wind farm commissioned in France by 2025. With a total capacity of approximately 500 MW and an investment of around €2.5 billion, the Yeu and Noirmoutier wind farm will provide electricity to nearly 800,000 people annually, equivalent to the population of Vendée. MULTRATUG 3, in collaboration with Fairplay 27, has an important role in this impressive venture. From Cadiz (ESP), Boabarge 36, with a jacket on board, has already been towed to La Rochelle (FR). From there, the barge will join the Pioneering Spirit near the coast of St. Nazaire (FR) to place the jacket on the seabed. Following this, both tugs will pick up the Greenbarge 3 loaded with topside from St. Nazaire and bring it to the Pioneering Spirit. Once that operation is completed we will tow both pontoons to Rotterdam. 📍 #MultrashipMakesTheDifference #OffshoreWind #SustainableEnergy #Multraship #OceanWinds #ENGIE #EDPRenewables #Noirmoutier #ÎlesdYeu

  • Today, Multraship joins the global maritime community in celebrating the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Day of the Seafarer, with this year’s campaign centred on seafarers’ safety at sea. 🌊 When working on deck during towage or salvage activities, make sure that everyone is wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment and regularly check the condition of the equipment used. Be mindful of your position on deck and avoid hazardous areas such as the path of towing lines and cables. Remember to use the stop-the-job policy if you encounter unsafe conditions. At Multraship, we recognise the invaluable contributions of seafarers who brave the open seas to keep our world connected. Their dedication and resilience are truly commendable. 🙌 #DayOfTheSeafarer #SeafarersSafety #SafetyTipsAtSea #Multraship Photo credits © Robert de Graaff

**Thank you**   We are profoundly touched by the many expressions of sympathy following the passing of our beloved father(-in-law) and Multraship co-founder Kees Muller. The countless flowers, advertisements, cards, letters and kind messages have greatly supported our mother(-in-law) Heleen and our family during this difficult time. Unfortunately it is impossible for us to thank everyone personally, but please know that your warm words and gestures have given us great comfort.   With much gratitude, Leendert & An Sofie, Eline & Paul, Joan & Pepijn on behalf of the Muller Family

In Memoriam Kees Muller (1944-2024)   It is with a deep sadness that we have to inform you that Kees Muller, our beloved father and cherished husband of 57 years to our mother Heleen, passed away at home in Terneuzen on 24 April. He was 79 years of age and had been ill for a considerable period of time.   Our father was co-founder of Multraship and his career in towage and salvage spanned six decades, having started in the family shipping business in the early 1960s. Over the years he was involved in hundreds, if not thousands, of salvage and rescue operations and, together with our mother he was pivotal not only in developing Multraship, but also the wider towage, salvage and shipping industry. Kees was always a creative thinker and as well as his operational experience he was the driving force behind the development of the revolutionary Carrousel Rave Tug (CRT). He was a passionate and important maritime ambassador and he was honoured with a knighthood - Ridder in de Orde van Oranje Nassau - in 2011.   Besides his exceptional entrepreneurial and specialist tug and salvage skills, he was widely known for his charismatic personality, a true “people’s person” with a love of sailing, music and entertaining; many will remember him livening up the room wherever a piano was available.   We will be forever grateful for all that he did for us and are so proud of him and we intend to continue his legacy.   At his own request, the funeral service will be held privately.   Leendert & An Sofie, Eline & Paul, Joan & Pepijn -On behalf of the family

  • 🌊🔋 Proud to contribute to a sustainable future! 🔋🌊 Multraship is proud to be a part of the groundbreaking Princess Elisabeth Island project, the world’s first artificial energy island. This notable initiative, located 24 nautical miles off the Belgian coast, will be essential in Belgium's energy transition. Commissioned by Elia and supported by the European Recovery Fund, the Belgian consortium TM Edison, a collaboration between Jan De Nul and DEME, is working on constructing this innovative island. The work began in early 2024, and by 2026, the island, with an area of approximately 12 football fields, will be operational. The island will handle both Alternative Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC) power, bringing 3.5 gigawatts (GW) of wind energy from the Princess Elisabeth zone ashore. Moreover, it will provide interconnections with other countries, such as the United Kingdom and Denmark. Multraship is responsible for towing and assembling the caissons from Flushing to the island. These caissons, each measuring 57 meters long, 30 meters wide, and 30 meters high, form the foundation of the island's structure. We are extremely proud to contribute to this project, as it will not only promote sustainability and the energy transition but also advance the development of innovative infrastructure in Europe. 🚢 Together, we are building a green future! 🚢 #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #PrincessElisabethIsland #Innovation #Multraship #WindEnergy #StrongerTogether
