🚵 Last week, 7 Kiwa team members embarked on the AlpenCross, a challenging 7-day journey across the Alps! Starting on June 29th from the Kiwa office in Gersthofen, Germany, the team—comprising three Swedes, two Germans, and two Dutch participants—covered a 450-kilometer route with daily altitude variations of 1600 to 2000 meters. Their destination: the picturesque town of Riva del Garda, Italy. Facing daily challenges, including steep ascents and descents, the group's success relied on their teamwork and mutual support. Earlier this month, our Finance team in the UK kicked off their team building event with a day of volunteering with Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action 🌱 Swapping spreadsheets for spades, our accountants, financial controllers, and ledger teams transformed a neglected meadow into a wildflower haven. They cleared overgrown areas, scattered wildflower seeds, and planted oxeye daisies. This volunteering experience wasn't just about beautifying the landscape; it was a fantastic opportunity for team bonding and collaboration outside the office. A win for biodiversity and team collaboration! Last week, plastics manufacturing company Braskem was awarded the Recyclass Traceability Certificate. The certificate was presented by Leendert van der Marel, Commercial Manager of Kiwa Netherlands, to Ellis van Dam, Braskem's Business Leader of Recycled Products Europe, and Leandro Tomasi, Product Manager for Europe. The Recyclass Traceability Certification focuses on the traceability of recycled plastics within a process and verifies a specified percentage of recycled plastic content in products. This certification allows Braskem to assure their end-users that their products align with EN 15343 and the principles of the controlled blending chain of custody model, as defined in ISO 2209. By incorporating this accredited certification service from Kiwa, Braskem can demonstrate the traceability and recycled content of its marketed grades. In 2024, Valencia, Spain, holds the title of European Green Capital, leading in environmental, ecological, and clean policies. In line with this mandate, Kiwa Spain's R+D+i Area has been working with the city council on sustainability initiatives, such as the recent Climate Week event (pictured below), where we collaborated with other municipalities in the mission group for smart and climate-neutral cities. The work already carried out, combined with Kiwa Spain's expertise in assessing the impact of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on cities and regions, has strengthened our partnership with the Ajuntament de València (Valencia City Council) on sustainability. We will continue this collaboration beyond 2024. Last month we participated in the SNEC PV POWER & Energy Storage EXPO in Shanghai, China. During the exhibition, Kiwa-PI China highlighted our capabilities in providing high-quality technical services, solutions for the full life cycle quality control of new energy projects, and the advantages of global, barrier-free services. Dr. Yun Min, CTO of Kiwa-PI China, shared valuable insights on environmental high-reliability quality assurance for TOPCon and HJT modules at the themed forum. The day before the exhibition, the Kiwa PVEL 2024 Annual PV Module Reliability Scorecard Seminar and PQP Scorecard Release Ceremony was held, attracting significant attention from industry experts and customers. At the seminar, Kiwa PVEL introduced the updated Product Qualification Plan (PQP), featuring new testing sequences like UVID, HSS, MSS, LID, DH, LETID, and BDS.
