Now, four years later, Floryn has made remarkable strides in the SME financing space. We spoke with co-founder Sven van der Biezen, who shared: "When Endeit was ready to invest, we had just experienced our three best months ever. Then COVID-19 broke out. Prequel Ventures, their pre-seed and seed stage VC fund, has been instrumental in fostering the growth of promising startups across Europe. They are renowned for their comprehensive approach to building a robust supply chain tech ecosystem through their open database approach and annual supply chain tech reports. Mathias has over 7 years of venture capital experience, investing in more than 20 B2B tech startups in Europe. He spent over 5 years supporting and building early-stage technology startups as CFO. "Supply chains have been historically overlooked but are now coming to the center of C-level attention at large enterprises, opening huge opportunities. However, the markets we're discussing are complex, sometimes fragmented, and highly business-critical. This demands a dedicated approach and a partner who understands the industry's dynamics at eye level with the founders. At Prequel Ventures, we aim to be that partner for pre-seed companies, and now, at Endeit, for Series A+ companies as well," says Mathias. Marcus scouts for startups across the entire value chain of goods, from sourcing and procurement to manufacturing, logistics, and waste management. Previously, he was an Investment Manager at Seed+Speed in Berlin. Welcome our new venture partners in the Climate Tech team 👋 We have some fantastic news: Bas Wijnen and Jan Fredriks are joining us as venture partners. Their combined expertise and passion for innovation will elevate us to new heights in the industry. They will collaborate with Edwin Hengstmengel, Emmelie Meurs, and Jeroen van der Does de Willebois on our 'Climate Tech' team. Get to know them.👇 Bas Wijnen, the founder and director of the energy company Vrijopnaam, brings a wealth of experience in the energy sector. Founded in 2016, Vrijopnaam comprises three parts: an energy supplier, a developer, and an operator of solar parks and energy storage systems (batteries). Its innovative participatory business model turns every consumer into an energy producer. Previously, Bas was a partner at the management consultancy firm Morgens for more than 10 years and is now part of the Conclusion ecosystem. He started his career within PostNL's e-commerce business unit. Bas thinks big, acts normal, and starts small. He wants to see something working quickly, looks for a 'cultural fit' between parties, and believes in mission-driven companies. Bas states: "Achieving unprecedented results with ambitious entrepreneurs excites me." Jan Fredriks is Essent’s Business Lead – B2B Energy Solutions (part of E.ON). Jan co-developed the Energy Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) business in the Netherlands since 2021. EIS focuses on developing and investing in large-scale innovative energy systems (solar, battery, 5th generation heating and cooling, and electric vehicle charging, including intelligent digital steering of energy assets) for B2B customers, project developers, and municipalities. Since 2018, Jan has also been actively advising and investing in start-ups via his mentorship at Rockstart and as part of his family office. Jan has deep knowledge of the energy market and a network across the entire value chain. Before joining Essent in 2020 as a senior strategist, Jan was a corporate strategist at PostNL and a management consultant at EY (Ernst & Young). Jan says: "I firmly believe that new technological innovation via start-ups is key for fighting current global challenges, such as climate change." We are looking forward to working with Bas and Jan. Their vast experience and visionary approach will be invaluable as we continue to push the boundaries of innovation in the Climate Tech segment. We are glad to introduce Tuomas Rekonen, our new Investment Manager! 🎉    Originally from Helsinki, Finland, Tuomas will bring his expertise to our Stockholm office, focusing on the supply chain segment with Jelle-Jan B.. Fun fact: Tuomas and Jelle-Jan met just over a year ago at a VC dinner!   Tuomas has a solid background in investment management. At Tesi, he advanced from investment analyst to investment manager over three years, managed his own portfolio, and gained a deep understanding of investment strategies and creating value for portfolio companies. Before Tesi, he was an analyst at Innovestor, where he invested throughout the Nordics and Baltics.   Outside of work, Tuomas loves hiking, especially during Finland's long summer days. Empowering climate tech: highlights from our roundtable in Berlin 🌱 Last Monday, a dynamic roundtable brought together experts and investors focused on climate tech for a day of insightful discussions on marketing and sales. Our guest speaker, Jeroen Nieuwenhuijs (ex-Snowflake and current venture partner), shared valuable advice on leading marketing and sales teams effectively, likening the role to a Sherpa. Fabian van Hoegee, the founder of RocketX, emphasized that successful sales are more science than art, highlighting the importance of having solid methodologies and processes from the outset. 💬 The day's agenda covered critical topics such as commercial execution strategies and data-driven marketing and sales and wrapped up with a great dinner.
