Yesterday evening, we had the pleasure of hosting a fantastic event – our first Customer Success reunion in Bucharest. Thank you, Saahil Karkera and CS Connect, for giving us the opportunity to contribute, and to Alexandra Sagaydak - our chapter lead. Here are some things that stuck with us in no particular order ( ... more to come in a dedicated blog article): 💡Empathy Among CS Professionals: It was evident that nobody understands a CS person better than another CS person. Many of us struggle to prove the value of CS to leadership because our work goes beyond what numbers can show. 💡Enhancing Efficiency: Discussions centered around optimizing workloads, such as determining the ideal number of customers per CSM and improving productivity without sacrificing quality customer interactions. 💡Proactive vs. Reactive: For those in startups, the split between support and CS remains a challenge. 💡Sales and CS Relationship: The importance of a strong Sales-to-CS relationship was highlighted. Prioritizing sales to CS handoff processes is crucial. 🔊Alexandra Sagaydak - we are looking forward to the second edition. A huge thank you to all the amazing people who participated. Your insights and energy made the event a breath of fresh air for everyone involved. 🏒✨ I wish I could have started this post by saying "I had a dream" - using the past tense since I was very close to making it happen last week when I attended my 3rd World Championship in ball hockey in Visp, Switzerland. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), life doesn't always go as you plan. My dream was (and still is) to take a picture with my family after winning the whole thing. We were very close on Saturday, but Canada came out on top again, beating us 3:2 in overtime. To make things even more difficult for me personally, the coaches chose a different goalie for the elimination part of the tournament, so I stayed on the bench. This was extremely tough for me, as I had put a lot of work into getting ready. Plus, at my age, it might have been my last opportunity. Reflecting on the Championship, there are a few lessons I learned that I would like to share: 1️⃣ Embrace Your Role: When my family heard the news that I would not be the starting goalie, they were not happy. But I had to stay strong and embrace my role to help the team win. The team is always more than an individual! I also wanted to lead by example for my kids, who all play sports, because these things simply happen. 2️⃣ It's Okay to Be Vulnerable: I must admit that I completely lost it and couldn't stop the tears when my family stepped onto the field. I was crying and shaking like a little child who had lost their favorite toy. And I'm not ashamed of it now. 3️⃣ It's Never Too Late to Make a Change: Despite being the second oldest player on the team (assuming family and health allow me), an occasion like this might serve as a great motivation going forward. Btw, if I look at the big picture, we had to deal with a whole lot as a family before the previous championship.
