The Invictus Battalion

Welcome to the Invictus Battalion of Cornell Navy ROTC, an embodiment of resilience, unity, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Our battalion, a diverse and vibrant community of 27 midshipmen hailing from all corners of the world, is a fusion of raw passion and academic rigor.

Our midshipmen represent a broad range of classes with 11 driven freshmen setting their voyage in the naval career, 4 sophomores developing their core competencies, 6 juniors honing their leadership skills, and 6 seniors gearing up to serve as future naval officers. Each year adds a new dimension to their journey, molding them into responsible, well-rounded leaders, ready to serve their nation with honor.

Our midshipmen shine not just in the realm of NROTC but also embrace a spectrum of interests that span across the campus. They actively lead and participate in a myriad of organizations, which provides them with a broad array of experiences that serve to enrich their perspective and leadership skills. From showcasing their athletic prowess in rowing, sprint football, track, club swimming, club rugby, and a variety of intramural sports, to taking on intellectual challenges in research projects, our midshipmen embody versatility and dedication.

They are also part of social and professional Greek letter societies, religious organizations, and project teams, demonstrating the robustness of their social skills and their ability to connect with different individuals. These opportunities have provided them with platforms to grow personally and professionally, allowing them to balance their academic, social, and ROTC responsibilities adeptly.

Furthermore, many of our midshipmen utilize on-campus working opportunities to enrich their practical skills and get hands-on experience. This all-round involvement lays a foundation for their future naval careers, ensuring they step into the real world with not only a profound understanding of their naval responsibilities but also an array of skills honed outside the confines of the ROTC.

In the Invictus Battalion, we foster a community that thrives on personal development, pushing each other towards achieving their best while maintaining a fulfilling and engaging student life. We welcome you to join us in our mission to raise the next generation of naval leaders who personify resilience, determination, and success.
