Jeff Atwood supports it: "There needs to be a beginner version of Stack Overflow.". One of the better received proposals is Create a separate, independent advanced Stack Overflow, focusing on being a knowledge library (but still part of the network).

Feb 8, 2022 at 1:26 comment added Tyler Dane It's pretty clear what we're losing now. But a SO team that's more focused on its area of expertise is going to bring a ton of value in the long-term. Removing a widely-used features isn't ideal, but I agree that this could be a good decision.
