Oct 26, 2021 at 15:53 comment added Matt Godbolt Wholeheartedly agree - this would be a fantastic addition.
Oct 26, 2021 at 3:50 comment added Cody Gray - on strike Mod From a comment to the question that @anastaciu linked, Peter Cordes has posted an answer arguing precisely the same thing on the MSE announcement of the switch to highlight.js. So, if you're upvoting this, you should probably be upvoting that, too.

Oct 26, 2021 at 0:21 comment added BeeOnRope @1201ProgramAlarm - highlight.js only supports Intel syntax, which is the default choice in any case among people who frequent the x86 tag.
Oct 26, 2021 at 0:18 comment added 1201ProgramAlarm I like the idea, but would this apply to only Intel format assembly, or to AT&T format assembly? There are many questions with AT&T formatted assembly that lack the att tag. Would this create a demand for syntax highlighting the assembly languages of other CPUs?
Oct 25, 2021 at 22:55 comment added BartoszAdamczewski I fully support this, many times I have looked for ASM-related questions and solutions to problems regarding LLVM, Specific CPU instructions, and registers. Syntax highlighting would be a very welcome addition.

Oct 25, 2021 at 22:41 comment added BeeOnRope @anastaciu - yes, but there's hope now after the switch to highlight.js since it supports x86asm out of the box, so it's just a matter of SO "flipping the flag" (so to speak).
Oct 25, 2021 at 22:21 comment added anastaciu It's an old problem, I'll always contribute to the cause whenever I can.
