Even if you believe that should have been handled differently with the community, a user who tried to remove unnecessarily gendered language from an answer got a rejection with the message that they "deface[d] the post" and were "deliberately destructive." After that, do you really expect someone to take it to meta and receive further invective? It's just not relevant to the issues here. | |

I tried to read it, but it's tough and I couldn't finish it (yet). On the one hand, I understand where they're coming from, on the other hand, the criticism seems based on not understanding what SE is (about). They tried to use a tool without knowing what it's for, it didn't work and instead of trying to find that out, they complain somewhere else. And I've read too many complaints about "unfriendly" DVs and people editing out "thanks" etc. It's tiring. | |
