A weather modification network (or weather control grid) was a technology used to control or influence weather patterns of a planet.

History and specifications[]

Weather modification networks could reduce the danger of destructive weather phenomena like tornadoes. Once common on Earth, by the 24th century a tornado could be dissipated by the network long before causing any damage. (TNG episode: "True Q")

Such networks were also deployed to prevent hurricanes, particularly on colony planets. (Adventures RPG module: Beta Quadrant Sourcebook)
