William Steinfeldt (19 March 1959 – 17 February 2012; age 52) was an actor who appeared as regular Bajoran officer in several episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He received no credit for his appearances and was identified by the name tags of his costumes which were sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay. [1] [2]

Steinfeldt attended SS Peter and Paul Catholic School and graduated from Madison High School. He studied drama in New York City and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild for over twenty-five years.

Steinfeldt was a regular background actor on the sitcom Cybill. He appeared as a restaurant patron in two first season episodes in 1995 where he worked with Michael Harris, Jeff Allin, Ellen Albertini Dow, Charles Gunning, Hal Needham, Joe Piscopo, Holiday Freeman, Jim Portnoy, Ronald R. Rondell, Irving Ross, and Robert Buckingham. During the second, third, and fourth season between 1995 and 1997, he appeared in twenty-nine episodes, mostly as the bartender of the restaurant where the regulars always meet. He also appeared as a film crewmember, piano bar patron, audience member, Sushi restaurant patron, comedy show crewmember, and movie theater patron and worked with Trek performers Irving Ross, William Ward, Harley Venton, Star Halm, Gunnel Eriksson, Boris Krutonog, S. Sanders, Tim Griffin, Brian Keith, Angela Paton, Warren Munson, Bill Erwin, Dell Yount, Steve Susskind, Harvey Vernon, Erick Avari, Michael Kurtz, Simon Billig, Andray Johnson, Aric Rogokos, Al Ahlf, Emilio Borelli, Janet Dey, Mike Fujimoto, Elizabeth Pengson, David Selburg, Joel Swetow, Faye Barge, Dorothy Hack, Estelle Harris, Deborah Lacey, Jay Montalvo, Michael Bailous, and Marvin De Baca.
