During the 2370s, Roller was a Starfleet officer and member of the Research and Development teams at Antares Ship Yards and Utopia Planitia Ship Yards during the construction of several Defiant-class starships, including the USS Defiant in 2370, USS Valiant in 2372, and USS Sao Paulo in 2375.
