Tan qalanq

A tan qalanq was a type of straight, single-edged Romulan sword wielded by the Qowat Milat. It had a hilt and scabbard made of wood.

In 2399, during his time as Jean-Luc Picard's qalankhkai, Elnor used his tan qalanq to decapitate Tenqem Adrev. Adrev's comrade Skantal then told Elnor that "a tan qalanq [was] no match for a disruptor". Later, Elnor wielded his tan qalanq to great effect against Romulan guards on the Artifact. Gabrielle Burnham, having been inducted as a sister in the Qowat Milat by 3189, was equipped with a tan qalanq, though she was not seen using it. (DIS: "Unification III")
