Talli

Talli was a female Mari who became friends with and romantically interested in Neelix when the USS Voyager visited her homeworld in 2374.

As a child, she had once heard of someone getting beaten, a story which gave her nightmares for weeks.

She was a vendor and was killed by one of her regular customers, Miss Tembit, who had acquired violent images and thoughts from Guill, a member of a telepathic black market; the thoughts had caused the woman's brief frustration when Talli dropped a fruit to escalate into a violent attack.

Neelix was deeply affected by her death, having regarded Talli as the first woman he had developed any feelings for since Kes' departure, and asked Tuvok to ensure that her murderer was brought to justice, which Tuvok eventually accomplished. (VOY: "Random Thoughts")
