- Ultimately, Maxwell was proven correct with the advent of the Dominion War in 2373. He was completely exonerated and his commission was reactivated and giving command of a starship. His expertise in militarly matters, particularly in regards to the Cardassians was invaluable during the war. He served with distinction and was awarded several of Starfleets highest honors and continued to serve as Captai until his eventual retirement in 2387.
Changing it from the prior:
- Ultimately, Maxwell was proven correct with the advent of the Dominion War in 2373. It is unknown if Maxwell was reinstated as Captain during the war, or what his final fate may have been.
