Synaptic transmitter

A synaptic transmitter was a piece of technology which created neurogenic pulses to cause increased engramatic activity, creating memories in the minds of anyone who would come within its range.

The Nakan memorial on Tarakis contained a synaptic transmitter and sent neurogenic pulses throughout its star system, to make people relive and remember a massacre of Nakan colonists. (VOY: "Memorial")
