Star Trek: Khan: Ceti Alpha V is an announced scripted podcast. It will focus on Khan Noonien Singh's character between the Star Trek: The Original Series episode "Space Seed" and the movie Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. [1]

The podcast is produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout, and Roddenberry Entertainment, and is written by Nicholas Meyer.

Development[]

In a 2017 interview, Nicholas Meyer hinted that there were more projects in development, besides Star Trek: Discovery, and that he was hired to write one of these projects. [2]

During an interview in 2018, producer Alex Kurtzman was asked if he intended to produce character focused series about Jean-Luc Picard or Khan Noonien Singh. Kurtzman responded that he would be happy to produce said series. [3] [4]

In a 2018 interview, Meyer said that he was hired to write a trilogy, but production was still on hold due to the merger talks between CBS and Viacom. [5] Said merger was completed in the second half of 2019. In another interview he announced that the miniseries would be named "Ceti Alpha V" and would focus on Khan's character between the TOS episode "Space Seed" and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. [6]

After the merger, it was announced that the series was back on track, and about to start production. [7] Later on, Meyer suggested that the reason the series was not moving forward may have to do with Paramount+ needing content for longer than a three hour run, and said that he could rewrite the current script into a full season.
