Samantha "Sam" Humphrey is a screenwriter who served as co-executive producer on the first season of Star Trek: Picard. She also wrote the episode "Nepenthe", together with Michael Chabon.

Humphrey has been in the business ever since she wrote the 2004 short film A Moment of Grace starring Richard McGonagle. Her television series debut was for Alias created by J.J. Abrams, scripting the fifth season "No Hard Feelings" (2006), with Daniel Zacapa. Her first full-time position materialized that same year with a staff assignment on CSI: New York starring Robert Joy, starting in the third season beginning with "Murder Sings the Blues", co-writing that season's Christmas episode "Silent Night", which was that year's final episode. Her last work that season was co-scripting "Cold Reveal". Humphrey's work in the fourth season began with "You Only Die Once", before finishing out 2007 co-writing "Down the Rabbit Hole" with Hank Harris. Humphrey's contributions that season concluded in 2008's "Like Water for Murder" and Personal Foul" before ending her tenure in the fifth season "Help" (2009).

Humphrey next worked as a guest writer on the briefly aired legal drama Body of Proof in 2011 starring John Carroll Lynch, Jeffrey Nordling, and Jeri Ryan with the first season "All In the Family", then the second season "Second Chances", and finally "Love Bites", featuring Jason Brooks, Joanna Cassidy, and Kevin McCorkle. Humphrey's next significant assignment was NCIS: New Orleans starring Scott Bakula and Zoe McLellan, beginning with 2014's "The Recruits". 2015 brought with it "The Abyss" with Corbin Bernsen. Humphrey's last effort that season was "You'll Do". The second season saw Humphrey drafting "I Do", with "Billy & the Kid" ending her work in 2015. 2016 resulted in "Father's Day", with Steven Weber and "Help Wanted" with Molly Hagan. At the same time Humphrey departed the series, so did McLellan.
