Rekelen was a member of the Cardassian underground movement and a student under Professor Natima Lang.
In 2370, Rekelen was forced to flee Cardassia Prime because of her political views. Rekelen, Hogue and Lang sought refuge at Deep Space 9, but they were later forced to flee again, after Elim Garak had informed the Central Command of their location.
Rekelen and the others were able to escape with the assistance of Garak and Quark, who installed a small cloaking device on their shuttle. (DS9: "Profit and Loss")
Rekelen was played by actress Heidi Swedberg.
