Pon Darra

Pon Darra was an alien officer who lived during the late 24th century.

Wearing the rank of commander, he was on bridge duty aboard the USS Cerritos in 2380 when Ensign Brad Boimler was ordered to the bridge. He was in the bar when the rage virus broke out, and was firing phasers at the rage zombies along with several other crewmembers. (LD: "Second Contact")

He was on the bridge during the mission to Gelrak V, and was slumped against the wall near the Engineering I station, and later a console, when the ship was invaded by a Gelrakian boarding party. (LD: "Temporal Edict")

He was on the bridge during the mission to tow the ancient generation ship, where he reacted to Commander Jack Ransom's comment about cleaning the holodeck biofilter. (LD: "Moist Vessel")

Rutherford imagined him, along with the rest of the engineering staff, having their minds blown if he'd brought back a T88 from the USS Vancouver. (LD: "Cupid's Errant Arrow")

He was on the bridge during the Cerritos' confrontation with the Drookmani ship over the salvage of the freighter NCC-502. (LD: "Terminal Provocations")

He was also on the bridge again later that year. (LD: "No Small Parts")

In 2381, he was on the bridge when the Cerritos fell victim to a scam that appeared as if they had accidentally destroyed the Ladyjane. (LD: "Mugato, Gumato")

He later entered the bridge at shift change an occupied the Engineering II station, when Shaxs took over command from Ensign Casey. (LD: "The Spy Humongous")

Later that year he participated in the simulator holopod training drills conducted by Shari yn Yem. (LD: "I, Excretus")

During the Cerritos twelve hour trip to the Kontaran system, Pon Darra, now wearing the rank of lieutenant, participated in a pottery class along with Shaxs and Sam Rutherford. (LD: "wej Duj")

He was at Engineering I on the bridge when the Cerritos traveled from Ornara to Brekka during Project Swing By. He glared at Mariner after she entered the bridge and informed the crew to "look alive people!", while on her way to the ready room, unaware of the trouble she was in making the ship look bad. As Pon Darra and the others glared, Mariner commented on them being "a tough crowd", and that it must be true that "the camera does add ten frowns." After Mariner entered the ready room, she commented to Freeman and Ransom on how she wasn't usually concerned with the crew's morale, but the energy of Pon Darra and the others was "dark". He later assisted in the final preparations in Engineering aboard USS Voyager as the ship was entrusted to the crew of the Cerritos to be returned to Earth. (LD: "Twovix")

Holograms[]

A simulated version of Pon Darra appeared in two holoprograms run by Commander Jack Ransom: Command Trainer 43 and Command Trainer 4. The real version of this officer was later present when Shaxs introduced Ensign Sam Rutherford to the "bear pack" as a new security officer. He later cheered on Rutherford's decision to return to engineering. (LD: "Envoys")

Another hologram of Pon Darra appeared in the holodeck training program Klingon Encounter. (LD: "I, Excretus")
