Phylobiology was the biology of groups that shared a genetic relationship.
In 2369, Deanna Troi attended a phylobiology seminar hosted by Professor Wagner. Going into the seminar, she thought the it would involve participation from everyone present, allowing each to bring their own points of view to the discussion. But instead, as she described it, "he gathered two hundred scientists from all over the Federation, and all he did was put us to sleep."
