An orderly was an individual in the medical profession who performed routine, often non-invasive tasks in sickbay.
Harrison was an orderly in sickbay when Hikaru Sulu required restraints while under the influence of the polywater intoxication. (TOS: "The Naked Time")
Following the death of an Alfa 177 canine, Dr. Leonard McCoy covered the animal in a blanket and handed it to Bobby, an orderly, and requested an "autopsy in depth". (TOS: "The Enemy Within")
