Captain Nemo was a character from the Earth novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
In an alternate 2374, Tom Paris referred to Annorax as Captain Nemo, drawing a parallel between the two. (VOY: "Year of Hell, Part II")
The Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 2, p. 73 described Nemo as a "reclusive technologist and undersea explorer who circumnavigated his planet in a ship called the Nautilus."
