In the first draft script of the Star Trek: Enterprise first season episode "Strange New World", McKenzie, an ensign assigned to engineering aboard Enterprise NX-01, was mentioned. Captain Jonathan Archer planned for her to play defense for the engineering team in a game of football on a newly discovered planet. Regarding McKenzie, Archer noted, "She'll be perfect."
