Nomad schematic

A magnetohydodynamic vernier-pulse thruster was a prototype propulsion system utilized on the 21st century Earth space probe Nomad.

In 2024, a display on Nomad at the Europa Mission gala chronicled that a flaw in Nomad's vernier-pulse thrusters was discovered after the launch, leaving Nomad vulnerable to collision with interstellar debris. This would contribute to the Nomad program being cancelled. (PIC: "Two of One")

The backlit graphic describing Nomad's mission was designed by Geoffrey Mandel, and shared on Twitter by Art Director Liz Kloczkowski. [1]

The magnetohydrodynamic venier-pulse (16K 3) were indicated on a schematic later consulted by the crew of the USS Enterprise. (TOS: "The Changeling")
