Magen was a female with narrow features and cat-like eyes, who was trapped in Elysia within the Delta Triangle. Possessed of psionic abilities, Magen served as an advisor to Devna, the Orion Interpreter of Laws, and Xerius, the Romulan speaker for the Elysian Council.

When the USS Enterprise and the Klingon battle cruiser Klothos were also trapped in Elysia, in 2269, Magen used her abilities to reveal a bomb hidden aboard the Federation ship before it had a chance to activate. (TAS: "The Time Trap")

Background information[]

The voice of Magen was provided by Nichelle Nichols.

Magan was described in the final draft of the script as follows: "a female alien from a planet in the Omega Cygni system. The planet is one of light gravity; and the alien, MAGEN is elongated with slender limbs and an almost ethereal quality."

The novelization, Star Trek Log 4 by Alan Dean Foster, spells her name "Megan" and states that she is a Cygnian. Her powers are described as a sympathy shared by her people and intensified by their minds enabling them to see all that others do, concepts that are revisited in the Star Trek: Starfleet Corps of Engineers eBook Where Time Stands Still by Dayton Ward and Kevin Dilmore.
