The stellar core fragment that tracked by the USS Enterprise-D was passing through the Moab sector in 2368 had a density of one hundred billion kilograms per cubic centimeter. With such a density, the core fragment would cause shifts to the tectonic plates on Moab IV well beyond 8.7 on the Richter scale as it passed by the planet. (TNG: "The Masterpiece Society")
