Kal Rekk was a holiday observed on the planet Vulcan. Kal Rekk, to the Vulcans, was a day of atonement, solitude, and silence. There was no season leading up to the holiday. (VOY: "Meld")
In the first draft script of ENT: "Fusion" (which had the working title "Equilibrium"), Fraht told Trip Tucker about Kal Rekk, explaining that (as with the Festival of T'Plana-Hath) observing the celebration was done by "sitting in silence and meditating."
