K'ranch was a Kromsapiod who lived in the 24th century.

In 2381, K'ranch was traveling to Dulaine when the orbital lift he was to ride to the surface malfunctioned. While waiting for it to be repaired, he was hosted aboard the USS Cerritos. He had brunch with Captain Carol Freeman, where they enjoyed mimosas and she found him "quite the charmer".

Due to his species' innate predatory urges, K'ranch found the delay increasingly burdensome. Thus, he approached Brad Boimler and D'Vana Tendi in the ship's bar and asked whether either would be willing to be his prey in a Venarix hunt. Boimler, having earlier committed himself to "say yes" to the next proposal he heard, agreed without knowing the details. K'ranch proceeded to chase him through the ship.

Boimler was eventually inspired to arm himself and attempt to "become the hunter". As he declared his intent, K'ranch speared him through the shoulder, ending the hunt. K'ranch then took a selfie of the two of them and explained that his people practiced "catch and release". He complimented Boimler on being excellent prey and gave him some pointers for the future. After Boimler fainted, K'ranch snapped one more selfie, "for the boys back home". (LD: "The Least Dangerous Game")

K'ranch was voiced by Nolan North.

His name is alternately stylized as "K'Ranch" in both the episode's closed captions and StarTrek.com.

According to Mike McMahan, K'ranch was named after a combination of ketchup and ranch dressing. [1]
