After Kate Mulgrew was cast as new captain on Star Trek: Voyager, German auditioned for the position of her stand-in on Thursday 22 September 1994 and Friday 23 September 1994. On these days she had her interviews along with Sue Henley, Linda Harcharic, and another actress. Henley was chosen for the job.
