Jared Patrick Cox (born 6 November 1976; age 47) is an actor who appeared as a background performer in two episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise. He first appeared as a Horizon crewman in the second season episode "Horizon" and later as a Xanthan bazaar alien in the third season episode "Rajiin". His costume from his first appearance was later sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay. [1]

Cox wrote about his Star Trek experiences on his blog. For the filming day on "Rajiin", he took a break from his job as a teller at Wells Fargo and went in for his make-up at 8 or 9am. He was part of the big crowd scene with over fifty SAG background performers as aliens. [2](X) [3](X)

Cox was born in the University of San Francisco Hospital to John and Linda Cox. He earned his BA in Drama from the San Francisco State University in 1999 where he also acted in several stage plays such as The Cryptogram, The Role of Della, A Doll's House, and Cabaret. He studied acting under Gary Spatz and Hugh Anthony and later appeared in the independent films Boy Meets Grip, 911, and Midnight Solo. In 2000 he married and moved to Los Angeles the following year. In 2004 he portrayed a background demon in the final episode of the fantasy series Angel, titled "Not Fade Away" which featured Trek performers Dennis Christopher, Mark Colson, Leland Crooke, David Figlioli, and Henry Kingi, Jr. and the following year he was a background actor on The West Wing.
