Jack Quaid (born 24 April 1992; age 32) is an American actor who voices Brad Boimler in Star Trek: Lower Decks. He reprised the role in live action in the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds second season episode "Those Old Scientists".

Career[]

Quaid was born in Los Angeles as the only child of film stars Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan. He attended Crossroads School in Santa Monica and studied three years at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

His career began in 2012, with the role of Marvel in The Hunger Games, which he reprised in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in 2013.

He later appeared in the 2014 comedy drama Before I Go (with Missi Pyle and Clancy Brown), Ithaca (2015, co-starring and directed by his mother), Logan Lucky (2017, with Seth MacFarlane, Tom Archdeacon, and Ito Aghayere), Tragedy Girls (2017, with Rosalind Chao), and starred in Plus One (2019, with Ed Begley, Jr. and Rosalind Chao).

On television, he was a regular in Vinyl. Maury Ginsberg appeared in a guest role on this show.

Since 2019, Quaid has portrayed Hugh "Hughie" Campbell in the Amazon TV series, The Boys. The series also features Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, and Lower Decks co-star Dawnn Lewis.

He also lent his voice to video games and animated projects. He voiced Dirhael in the video games Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (2014, with Nolan North, Dwight Schultz, Jennifer Hale, Phil LaMarr, and Fred Tatasciore) and Middle-earth: Shadow of War (2017, with Robin Atkin Downes, Michael Gough, Jennifer Hale, Phil LaMarr, Nolan North, Toks Olagundoye, Dwight Schultz, and Fred Tatasciore). He also voiced Alberto Falcone in the two-part DC superhero animated film Batman: The Long Halloween (2022, with Robin Atkin Downes and Fred Tatasciore).

His most recent projects are the 2022 horror sequel Scream and the 2023 historical drama Oppenheimer (with Scott Grimes).
