A dyne (symbol dyn) was a unit of measurement defined as the force that accelerated a mass of one gram at the rate of one centimeter per second squared. One dyne was equal to 2.2481e−6×10−6 pounds of force, or 10−5 newtons.

The Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 1, p. 377 defined "isodyne", which was mentioned in "Gravity", as "a unit of measure, used to quantify energetic warp particles."
