Inside Star Trek - The Real Story was the north-American Paramount Home Video VHS release of the documentary Inside Star Trek - The Real Story, itself based on the reference book Inside Star Trek: The Real Story by Herbert F. Solow and Robert H. Justman.

In the UK, the VHS was released by CIC Video two weeks after the American one, albeit packaged as a part of the larger four-tape Star Trek - Greatest Battles box set collection, where it was included as a special feature on the Volume One tape, alongside the episodes "Balance of Terror" and "The Doomsday Machine". The set was also released by CIC the next year in the Netherlands and in Germany the year thereafter. But while the German version lacked the documentary, it was included on the Dutch one, featuring the original English-language audio track with Dutch subtitles, though the summary was translated on the back of its slipcase.

Only released in the USA , the UK, and the Netherlands, no other home video format releases, besides the 1999 Japanese LaserDisc counterpart release, are known to exist. Remarkably, the US VHS tape was endowed with an ISBN, something that was usually reserved for print publications only.
