Dick Cherney (6 November 1914 – 21 October 2017; age 102) was an actor who played a Council Member in the Star Trek: The Original Series first season episode "A Taste of Armageddon" and a Passerby in the episode "The City on the Edge of Forever".

He filmed his scenes for the former on Tuesday 3 January 1967 and Wednesday 4 January 1967 at Desilu Stage 10, and for the latter on Friday 3 February 1967 at the 40 Acres backlot. As a background performer, he was not credited for his roles.

Cherney was a prolific background actor who, from approximately 1936 to 1976, made over 250 uncredited film and television appearances.

From December 2016 until his death, Cherney was the oldest living known actor to have appeared in the Star Trek franchise, following the death of fellow Original Series background actor Shep Houghton. He was the sixth Star Trek performer to reach the age of 100, following Viola Stimpson, Buzz Barbee, Ellen Albertini Dow, Olaf Pooley, and Houghton. With his death, Norman Lloyd, who was two days his junior, became the oldest living Star Trek performer.
