An illusion of a Columbia survivor

This man was a member of the SS Columbia expedition exploring the Talos star group. He was killed when the ship crashed on Talos IV in 2236. The Talosians, however, recreated an image of him in 2254, as part of their attempt to lure the crew of the USS Enterprise to the planet's surface.

Upon viewing the crew of the Enterprise, he observed, "They're men! They're Humans!" (TOS: "The Cage")

Footage of his encounter with Captain Christopher Pike and the crew of the Enterprise during the original visit to Talos IV, from 13 years prior, was transmitted from that planet during Spock's fictional court martial aboard the same ship in 2267. (TOS: "The Menagerie, Part I")

This man was a member of the SS Columbia expedition exploring the Talos star group. He was a member of the American Continent Institute expedition led by Theodore Haskins. He was killed when the ship crashed on Talos IV in 2236. He was part of a recreation visualized in an attempt to lure the crew of the USS Enterprise to the planet's surface on a false rescue mission. Upon meeting the crew of the Enterprise, he asked Captain Pike, "Is Earth all right?" (TOS: "The Cage")

According to the call sheets, there were seven extras as "old survivors". They filmed their scenes on Monday 7 December 1964 and Tuesday 8 December 1964 at Desilu Culver Stage 16.
