Marcus Tullius Cicero was a Roman orator, politician, and author who lived in the 1st millennium BC.
In the 23rd century, a quote attributed to him, "Vivere est Cogitare" ("to live is to think"), was the motto for Musk Junior High School. (DIS: "New Eden")
In 2375, Admiral William Ross quoted Cicero's famous Latin language phrase "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges" to Julian Bashir, which Bashir translated as "In times of war, the law falls silent." (DS9: "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges")
According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 1, p. 143, the birth and death years of Marcus Tullius Cicero were 106 BCE and 43 BCE, respectively.
