Chocolate sundae

A chocolate fudge sundae

A chocolate sundae was an Earth dessert made from chocolate, vanilla or strawberry ice cream, chocolate fudge, and whipped cream.

It was one of Counselor Deanna Troi's favorite foods and she tried to instruct a replicator aboard the USS Enterprise-D to make a "real chocolate sundae" in early 2366. (TNG: "The Price") Later that year, after temporarily becoming Human, Q ordered ten chocolate sundaes in Ten Forward when

Lt. Commander Data observed the pleasurable impact they had on Troi. Unfortunately, Q lost his appetite before being able to enjoy the desserts. (TNG: "Deja Q").

In 2368, Troi instructed Commander William T. Riker on the proper way to eat a chocolate sundae, however, the commander never cared for fudge. (TNG: "The Game").

Despite her character's love of chocolate, actress Marina Sirtis was concerned that filming these scenes would adversely affect her weight. As such, she asked the producers to use milk chocolate (which she disliked), and spit the ice cream into a bucket off camera after each bite. (Memorable Missions, TNG Season 5 DVD special features)

The 2006 Art Asylum action figure in the likeness of Deanna Troi came packaged with a small phaser, PADD, tricorder, and a miniature chocolate sundae.
