Balancar was an inhabited planet in the Balancar system of the Alpha Quadrant and the only known source for syrup of squill, made from the indigenous squill plant.

The Agricultural Consortium on Balancar halted exports of syrup of squill in 2373, claiming there was a planetary drought. In fact, however, they were stockpiling squill so as to drive up the prices.

In 2374, Quark did business with the nephew of the cousin of the stepsister of a friend of the secretary of the Consortium's chief accountant, who mentioned to him that the accountant had bought himself a pair of Ferengi rain slippers. Quark deduced from this that there was no drought, and threatened to expose the Consortium's plot unless they provided him with a shipment of squill. (DS9: "The Magnificent Ferengi")

This planet was only mentioned in dialogue.

This planet's quadrant of origin is inferred based on the position of its star system as seen in the star chart appearing in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".
