The plasma weapon fired plasma bursts and had no stun setting, only a kill setting. (ENT: "Cease Fire")
The Andorian Imperial Guard commando led by Commander Thy'lek Shran to find the secret sensor array at the Vulcan monastery at P'Jem carried Andorian rifles. They used them during a firefight with a landing party from Enterprise NX-01. One of the rifles was also used by a Vulcan Initiate to threaten Captain Jonathan Archer after he found the listening post. (ENT: "The Andorian Incident")
Andorian rifles were extensively used during a war between Vulcan and the Andorian Empire over Paan Mokar. (ENT: "Cease Fire")
In the script of "The Andorian Incident", these rifles are referred to as "wicked-looking particle weapons."
The energy discharges fired by these rifle were identified as plasma bursts in the script of "Cease Fire". [1]
