Since Intel launched its new generation of processors with a big.LITTLE design, AMD’s previously unstoppable momentum has taken a significant hit.

Regardless of whether the big.LITTLE architecture outperforms the traditional all-big-core design in real-world usage, its specifications on paper are certainly impressive.

In practical use, while the big.LITTLE design can introduce some compatibility issues, it indeed shows superior single-core and multi-core performance compared to the traditional all-big-core architecture.

Previously, it was widely believed in the industry that AMD might revise its Zen5 design to follow Intel’s lead towards a big.LITTLE architecture in order to compete directly with Intel again.

However, the recently announced Ryzen 9000 series for desktops has debunked this rumor.

The entire desktop lineup retains the traditional all-big-core structure. Yet, with the support of the latest process technology and architecture optimizations, the performance increase of the Ryzen 9000 series compared to the previous generation is astonishing.

It seems AMD intends to demonstrate to the semiconductor market that the all-big-core…
