To Track Or Not To Track My Children

Am I a bad parent for not using tech to watch my kids every minute?

I have really enjoyed raising my children.

As their primary caregiver, I’ve been responsible for their care, cooking their meals, helping them with schoolwork, making and keeping all their doctor appointments, and shuttling them to and from school and activities.

I’ve taken it seriously and I’ve done it to the best of my ability (well, maybe not the cooking).

So is it wrong that, even though technology would allow me to, I don’t want to use their phones or any other tech to track them during every minute of their day?

From lockdown to complete freedom

I grew up on a dairy farm. My siblings and I didn’t really go anywhere or do anything when we were kids, because our parents didn’t have time to take us. The rule was, when you turned sixteen and got your own driver’s license, you could borrow the car if it was available and go out after your work was done.

In other words, I went from being watched by my parents all the time to being set completely free (when I was allowed to go).
