What If Women Started to Roofie Men?

As a husband and father of four girls, I’m always worried about their safety.

It’s a constant and complex fear.

Part of that fear is basic instinct. These women are my life. They are my everything. As a husband and father, protecting them is my paramount duty. It’s ingrained in me.

Another part of that fear is based on the fact that many — too many — men are predators whose main purpose in life is to pursue women.

Whether the women want to be pursued or not is immaterial.

In fact, for the worst of the bunch, they prefer women who want nothing to do with them. You know, the whole, it’s the thrill of the chase crowd or even worse, the no means yes wolves.

To help combat that specific fear, nine years ago, we started Tae Kwon Do classes as a family. It stuck. Big time. All four of our girls are second or third-degree black belts.

While such bad-assery is certainly helpful, it’s not an end-all, beat-all, because nothing is. But, those skills do come with self-confidence, and an overall aura of don’t fuck with me, that some of those men mentioned above want nothing to do with.
