This is not a blessing in disguise (or maybe for some of us it is). Iโ€™m not being mean at all, but candid.

Admittedly, I didnโ€™t like attending weddings, I avoided them and as such, I didnโ€™t attend many of the important family events.

Not out of spite, because that would have been implied in that sentence, but because of the energy and the boring atmosphere and the superficiality โ€” โ€œLetโ€™s go to that wedding, itโ€™ll be super cool!โ€.

Yup, and itโ€™s always super-duper, as they say. Every time we pretend weโ€™re happy for our loved ones, that theyโ€™ve taken the next step, but then we ask the question of -the wedding gift-.

Iโ€™m not disputing, that there are also weddings with parties and sincere people who walk down the aisle out of love, but they are very few. It also depends on your country, customs, traditions, and so on.

Itโ€™s an abomination of what we live today โ€” weddings out of interest, failed marriagesโ€ฆ A business of image.
