The iPhone 16 series is set to be launched in September. While we anticipate the official announcement, a recent leak suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature faster wired and MagSafe wireless charging speeds compared to the iPhone 15 Pro models from last year.

Apple had capped the charging speed at 27W wired and 15W using MagSafe for the iPhone 15 series. The enhanced charging speed is expected to allow users to recharge their phone batteries more quickly.
According to a report by ITHome (Chinese), the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will support 40W wired charging and 20W wireless charging through MagSafe. If this speculation proves to be accurate, it would represent a significant upgrade over the iPhone 15 series. The iPhone 15 series was equipped with a USB Type-C port.
Nonetheless, both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro could reach up to 27W peak charging speeds with a compatible USB Type-C charger. Official MagSafe chargers from Apple and authorized third-party vendors could provide up to 15W wireless charging.
Apple has stated that by using a 20W or higher power adapter, all models in the iPhone 15 lineup could charge up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes, mirroring the performance of the previous-generation iPhone 14.
In addition to the charging speed, the iPhone 16 series is anticipated to feature larger battery capacities in comparison to their 2023 counterparts. The iPhone 16 Pro Max may come with a 4,676mAh battery, while the iPhone 16 Pro could have a 3,355mAh cell. The standard iPhone 16 is rumored to include a 3,561mAh battery.

Lastly, the iPhone 16 Plus might be equipped with a 4,006mAh battery. According to teardown videos, the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max have battery capacities of 3,367mAh, 4,383mAh, 3,290mAh, and 4,422mAh, respectively.
