Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max to remain best-selling model in early 2024, says analyst Ming-Chi Kuo

In his most recent industry report on Medium, Kuo stated that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will continue to make up 40–45% of all iPhone 15 shipments in the first half of 2024. This will play a crucial role in supporting the Taiwanese camera lens supplier Largan, reports MacRumors.

In addition to its large 6.7-inch screen, the iPhone 15 Pro Max stands out as the flagship model. What sets it apart is the inclusion of a unique 5x Telephoto zoom lens, also known as the "tetraprism" lens, which is not available in any other iPhone models. This exclusive feature is projected to significantly boost Largan's revenue in the first half of the year, with estimates ranging from $108.8 to $121.6 million, as stated by Kuo.

Kuo has reiterated his anticipation for the tetraprism lens to be incorporated into the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max in the upcoming year. This integration will facilitate a minimum of 5x optical zoom and 25x digital zoom on the Telephoto lens of both flagship models.

The anticipated specifications for the iPhone 16 Pro include a bigger 6.3-inch screen, in contrast to the 6.1-inch display of the iPhone 15 Pro. This alteration would result in a larger device size, consequently allowing for more internal room to accommodate a tetraprism lens.

As per The Elec's report, Apple aims to enhance production efficiency by incorporating LG Innotek as an additional supplier for the folded zoom module utilized in their technology. This strategic move is aimed at meeting the growing demand for a larger number of units.

Apple could also potentially reduce the size of the dynamic island on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max in order to achieve a higher screen-to-body ratio. One of the renders displayed in the video showcases the iPhone 16 Pro with a punch-hole cutout placed at the center. However, it remains uncertain if Apple will completely eliminate the dynamic island, considering it was introduced only two years ago. Additionally, the latest update confirms Apple's commitment to include a dedicated Capture button below the power button.
