‘Deadpool & Wolverine’: Ryan Reynolds dons hanbok, confesses love for K-pop and BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK’s fandom BLINK has a new fanboy and a major one at that. Deadpool & Wolverine superhero Ryan Reynolds recently admitted his admiration for the K-pop supergroup during his promotional spree in South Korea. The 47-year-old actor, who was accompanied by co-star Hugh Jackman and director Shawn Levy, were presented with traditional Korean hanboks. It was brought to Reynolds’ attention that their ethnic costume was curated by the same designer who made BLACKPINK’s Coachella costumes.

The mention of the all-girl band prompted Reynolds to admit his love for the quartet entity behind hits like How You Like That and Pink Venom. “Love BLACKPINK,” he noted while expressing his inner K-pop fanboy. Additionally, the Hollywood biggie also said he adores Stray Kids.

Reynolds’ Love for Stray Kids is no secret to fans. In 2021, he gave a shoutout to the K-pop group on X after Felix chose to dress up as Deadpool in one of his concerts. The actor has also previously interacted with Stray Kids' leader Bang Chan where he admitted to being their “huge fan.”

“Not only do I love what you guys do, but I love how you do it because you do it with joy and you do it with authenticity. I’m super proud that I get to kind of know you now,” he reportedly told the idol.

Deadpool & Wolverine hits the theatres on July 26.
