Jan 22, 2022 at 16:44 | comment | added | JetfiRex | @Wolfgang The square connect to the midpoints is the square that connect to four midpoints of four sides of the big square, in a total of $2n$ entries. The green corners of length $(\sqrt{3}-1)n$ entries means those green lines on those four corners are kind of diagonals of $(\sqrt{3}-1)n$ square... sorry for the confusion.
Jan 22, 2022 at 10:12 | comment | added | Wolfgang | I have improved the wording at some places to make it clearer. But I still have a hard time to understand your upper bounds (though I guess they are correct). What do you mean by "the square connected the midpoints" and by "The green line four corners are of length $(\sqrt{3}-1)n/2$ entries"?
