Oct 29, 2019 at 15:23 comment added anderstood Interpolation is in general not monotonic. There can be overshoot (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runge's_phenomenon). You can enforce monotonicity by using 1st order interpolation, or en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monotone_cubic_interpolation. As a side note, Interpolate is a very bad name for a variable!
